Let’s TALK HIRING A WEDDING SINGER
Your wedding day deserves a soundtrack that perfectly reflects your love story. A talented wedding singer can elevate the atmosphere, keep the energy going, and create lasting memories for you and your guests. But with so many options available, finding the right singer can feel overwhelming. Here are some important things to consider.
Firstly, you need to think about your style and budget. Different genres can be appropriate at different times of the day. A soulful acoustic set list during the wedding breakfast can add a touch of class, but heavy rock or dubstep probably isn’t the right choice.
Be realistic about how much you can allocate to the singer. A wedding can easily step over the budget line, so try and agree on a budget for your singer and stick to it.
Find the right fit. Scan Instagram and other social platforms and watch examples of their work. This is a great way to get to know their personality, are they going to be the right fit for you and your wedding. It’s really important that you and your chosen wedding singer are on the same page about the kind of performance you want so be sure to ask the right questions.
Communicate well! Discuss song requests and the timings with your wedding singer in detail. It’s no good showing up on the day to request your favourite song only to find out it’s not a song they know. You’ll also need to confirm with the singer and the venue which equipment is available.
Someone we often recommend is Tom Ryder. Tom has been in the industry for over a decade and has a huge repertoire of songs. Even better he will learn or write a bespoke song for you.
An interview with tom Ryder weddings
Hi, my name is Tom Ryder. I'm an acoustic guitarist and singer specialising in weddings.
I have been in the industry for more than 10 years and regularly perform all over the UK and beyond.
I provide bespoke music for the ceremony, drinks receptions, the wedding breakfast, the first dance and a party set before the DJ kicks in.
I truly believe in the value of having live music instead of recorded tracks as it adds a very personal touch to the day, and couples and guests love it! Using a guitar and my voice, it is possible to play anything from soothing, relaxing songs at the start of the day right through to lively numbers as the day goes on and people are in a dancing mood.
I have also written songs especially for weddings when requested. This tends to go down extremely well! I'm now taking bookings for 2025 and 2026 so if you would like to have live music as part of your day, do not hesitate to reach out and get in touch.
Music is a huge part of any wedding day – let's keep it live :)
