LET’S TALK wedding makeup

Our wedding is a day, is a day we girls dream of for years. We likely practiced our wedding as children wearing mums veil and holding daisy’s we picked from our garden. We want it to be perfect and we want to feel like a princess. Afterall it’s not often that we get our hair and makeup done for us and then have our pictures taken like we are about to be on the cover of vogue.

That’s why choosing the right makeup artist is so important. We want the perfect mix of natural and glam. And let’s face it we all have those areas in our makeup routine that we wonder if a makeup artist will be able to do as we like. For me it was the eyebrows!

Our makeup can make us feel womanly and confident. We might chose eyeliner to widen the eye shape or go for a red lip to add a pop of colour. Whatever we chose we want to feel good and look good.

The makeup artist usually comes in the morning when we might have some early wedding day nerves. That’s why having a makeup artist we feel comfortable with is so important. Someone who has been in the industry a while will understand this they may even know what we need, a glass of bubbly or a sing along to dancing queen with our girls.

It’s a long day! If we are planning a summer wedding we are likely praying for sunshine. But wedding makeup and sunshine don’t always mix. A professional makeup artist will know the right products to use so that you can enjoy the sun and dance the night away looking beautiful all day long.

As well as feeling comfortable and liking the style of makeup, budget is also important. The average wedding makeup artist in the UK costs between £100-£250, with there being some exceptions that cost more and others who are new to the industry who will cost less.

Is it worth the cost? That depends, if your a professional make up artist and you very particular about your make up you may chose to do your own make up. But if your not or you just want to feel pampered and beautiful all day long, having a professional makeup artist is worth every penny. They also have all the right products to create lasting beautiful makeup.

Having worked in the industry for a while now I’ve had the privilege of working with some lovely makeup artists, including Tatiana Bridal Stylist and Alice Wotton makeup. And I know you can trust them with your glowing skin!
